Donut Sunday 2018

This is the BEST community service event ever! This is for Packs 131, 331 and Troop 331.

The scouts and parents help serve donuts, coffee, tea, juice and other beverages to the parishioners on Sunday March 18th after three morning masses (the 8:00am, 9:30am and 11:00am masses) dressed in their Class A (full) uniform.

There is some setup for a handful of folks on Saturday at 5PM and then a few shifts to setup for each mass, restock the trays, and then clean up and tear down the tables at the end. It's the last session which needs the most volunteers and has the benefit of eating the remaining donuts (actually, the Food Bank takes them, but a great few have been known to be consumed by the clean up crew).

The Scoutmaster's favorite part is when they deliver 65 dozen of dunuts at 7:15AM in a giant box and we sort them. Only the bravest scouts can handle being an official donut taste tester during this session!

The volunteers' shifts include the 5pm Saturday shift (3 scouts) for setup and then the 4 Sunday shifts which include:

3 7:15-8:00AM Setup, Sort & Quality Control donuts
7 8:30-9:30AM Serve donuts and drinks after 8:00AM Mass
9 10:00-11:00AM Serve donuts and drinks after 9:30AM Mass
12 11:30-12:30PM Serve donuts and drinks after 11:00AM Mass and then be the Cleanup crew (bonus donut)
